To play Pokémon TCG, each player builds a 60-card deck and uses Pokémon to battle, aiming to knock out their opponent's Pokémon or take all of their Prize cards. The game involves drawing cards, playing Pokémon, attaching Energy, and using Trainer cards to gain advantages. The first player to achieve either of these objectives wins.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Set Up

  • Decks: Each player creates a 60-card deck, including at least one Basic Pokémon.

  • Active Pokémon: Choose one Basic Pokémon from your hand to be your Active Pokémon.

  • Bench: You can have up to five other Basic Pokémon on your Bench.

  • Prize Cards: Place six cards from the top of your deck face down as Prize cards.

2. Game Flow:

  • Turns:

Players take turns, starting with a card draw.

  • Actions:

    During their turn, players can:

    • Play Basic Pokémon.

    • Evolve Pokémon.

    • Attach Energy cards to their Pokémon.

    • Play Trainer cards (Items, Supporters, Stadiums).

    • Retreat their Active Pokémon to a Bench position.

  • Attacks:

Once prepared, players can use their Active Pokémon's attacks against their opponent's Pokémon.

  • Knock Out:

When a Pokémon is knocked out, the winning player takes one of their Prize cards.

3. Winning the Game:

  • Prize Cards: The first player to take all of their Prize cards wins.

  • Knock Out: If a player has no Pokémon left on the field, the other player wins.

  • No Cards Left: If a player runs out of cards in their deck and can't draw for their next turn, the other player wins.

4. Key Card Types:

  • Pokémon: Basic, Stage 1, and Stage 2 Pokémon evolve and have abilities and attacks.

  • Energy: Energy cards provide the power needed to use attacks.

  • Trainer: Trainer cards include items, supporters, and stadiums, offering a variety of effects.
